About Jennie:
Jennie Freda, LPC, SEP, brings a unique background and wealth of life experience to FRG. She sees her clients’ struggles with profound empathy and understanding. Her welcoming demeanor and keen sense of humor offer a safe environment for growth. Jennie brings warmth and connection to her work, seeing clients with anxiety, depression, PTSD, and other family issues. She is passionate about helping her clients understand the biological reasons for their symptoms, leveraging mind-body interventions to manage their heightened emotional experiences. Jennie is committed to helping clients develop practical tools and knowledge they can take into their everyday lives. She champions them in getting unstuck from ineffective and habitual ways of coping—creating more balance and joy.
Jennie has completed the three-year program in Somatic Experiencing and is a strong SE therapist. She is passionate about helping clients experience the transformative difference of working with their minds, bodies, and nervous system to create long-term and meaningful change.
As a longtime wife and a mom of two teens, Jennie brings a unique combination of youthful energy and maturity to connect with parents. In her off hours, she can be seen socializing with friends, traveling, enjoying time with family, and diving into new experiences and sources of novelty and fun. Last year she started paddle boarding and pickleball, and this year, with the encouragement of her kids, she’s trying hip-hop dance classes!
Jennie’s Background:
- MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northeastern Illinois University.
- BA in Business from Miami University.
- Completed 3+ years of Somatic Experiencing training, including over 250 instructional hours towards professional designation.
- Training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
- Completed 2+ years of instruction at the Meditate Center for Healing Arts in Chicago.
